Starting point
An international publishing group aimed to professionalise its overseas business by setting up a standalone legal entity for international sales. The goal was to meet legal requirements and raise operational efficiency. The key constraint: existing business relationships and contracts had to remain intact, so the solution needed to fit seamlessly into the current SAP landscape.
Objective
Model the new legal entity end to end in SAP across Sales, Procurement, Finance, and Controlling. Focus areas:
-
Tax registration and country-specific requirements
-
Integration into SD, MM, FI, and CO
-
Automation of complex tax and accounting logic
-
A low-maintenance, future-proof architecture
Implementation
Working closely with the business, we implemented the new organisation unit in SAP. This covered assignments to sales organisations and company codes and set up tax reporting structures for EU and non-EU trade.
Sales, procurement, and intercompany processes were standardised and largely automated. Adjustments in FI/CO and SD/MM ensured correct country-specific tax and posting logic.
An integrated monitoring layer adds transparency and reduces manual effort.
Result
The new legal entity is fully integrated into SAP. International sales and procurement run in an automated and stable way. The company benefits from higher efficiency, fewer errors, and faster response to market changes while maintaining strong process reliability and transparency.
